Council approves retirement facility expansion at Thyme Resort and residential subdivision
Mareeba Shire Council has approved a material change of use for a retirement facility extension at 10 Margherita Close and a residential subdivision on Hastie Road.
Council approved a development permit for Serenitas Management Pty Ltd to extend the existing Thyme Lifestyle Resort as a retirement facility at 10 Margherita Close, Mareeba. The development includes 24 retirement dwellings and a garden centre, with infrastructure charges totalling $309,056.40.
The approval is subject to extensive conditions including lot amalgamation, stormwater management, frontage works on Anzac Avenue and Margherita Close, landscaping, and connection to reticulated water and sewerage systems. The applicant must also construct a pedestrian crossing linking to the Cedric Davies Hub carpark.
Council separately approved a subdivision application from M & K Hastie to reconfigure Lot 10 on SP198000 at 294 Hastie Road into two lots. The subdivision is subject to conditions including access provision, stormwater drainage, and bushfire hazard management.
